Radiology: Extra Bang for your Buck

Although radiographs have a lot of useful information to give us, there are some limits to the basic technique in as much as you really can only get a good view of the outside shape of an organ but no internal detail. This is because the whole structure is the same thickness so appears the same all over despite changes to its internal structure. For this reason veterinarians will often use auxiliary techniques to help them better visualize internal structures on a radiograph.
