Dr. Rebecca Lynes graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2010. After graduation, she worked in a small town, working with a variety of small animals. After a few years in rural practice, Dr. Lynes moved back to her hometown, Ottawa. After a year of work in emergency medicine, Dr. Lynes returned to private practice, where she focuses on preventative care for animals.
Dr. Lynes’s main interests include animal behaviour, nutrition, and preventative care. She also enjoys educating and spent some time working as an instructor at Algonquin College, teaching in the veterinary technician and veterinary assistant program.
Currently, Dr. Lynes is working to complete a master’s degree in counselling psychology. She is very passionate about the mental well-being of veterinary support staff as well as animal caregivers. Being an animal caregiver comes with a lot of challenges including having to make difficult decisions regarding the care of that pet. Using the skills learned throughout her master’s program, she hopes to help clients during these challenging times.
When not working in the clinic or studying for her master’s degree, Dr. Lynes loves baking, spending time with family, caring for her furry family members and yoga.
