Maintaining oral health is equally important for your pet as it is for humans.
Your veterinarian is also a trained dentist who can help diagnose and treat a range of oral health issues. For most pets, it is a challenge to stay still while the delicate process of examination and cleaning all parts of the mouth is carried out. Anesthesia is the only way to ensure a complete and non-painful dental procedure. The inhalant anesthesia offered is the same used in human medicine and is very safe.
We offer many of the same services provided by your local dentist such as a complete oral exam, cleaning by scaling and polishing teeth, x-rays and if need be, periodontal surgery. During the dentistry, each tooth and its supporting structure is individually examined. All the plaque and tartar are removed above and below the gum line, and any gingival pockets are cleaned and flushed. The teeth are then polished, and fluoride is applied.
It is recommended to brush your dog’s teeth daily.
The health of your pet’s teeth and gums is directly linked to the overall health of the body. Clean teeth can significantly improve and extend the life of your pet.
